residue

"abstract drawing" project

In this project, I'll have students use stencil as a way to compose an abstract drawing.
At the very first step, we'll need to make 3 stencils of different shapes cut out from a cardboard.
Students should think of the meanings and origins of the specific images they choose.
Then, trace the shapes of stencils, create patterns and lines, build up the work, and make their own stories. The unity of the total artwork should be emphasized. Also, make sure that they flip the stencils to make different shapes.

Artist tape for protecting the edges of the drawing.
Fill out the shapes with color pencils. Have students think of the characters and personalities of varied colors. Make sure to use dark and light shading to enhance the rich color.

well, it's a project for my "creative art club."
kinda don't know what im doing...

ashes

fetish

Normally, I don't like pinkish stuff, however, I just got a lot of "My Melody" things lately. Don't know what's the problem with me. I just feel like this little bunny with red (or pink) hood makes me happy. I found out her birthday just passed, therefore, I put up this article to celebrate her belated forgettable birthday. Even if she would never know.

Profile of My Melody

Name: My Melody
Birthday: January 18, 1975
Place of birth: Forest of Mari Land
Favorite hobby: Baking brownies with her mother
Favourite food: Almond pound cake
Best friend: A mouse named Flat, and a host of forest friends
Enemy: Devil Kuromi (I love Kuromi)
Description: Lives with her mother, grandmother and brother, Rhythm.
Personality: very curious, but a little hasty at times

Kuromi is My Melody's niece, I actually like her better than My Melody. She's cuter, isn't she?

"dots"project

Here is a project which I'm gonna teach next semester.
It's inspired by Kusama Yayoi. I'll have students create a work by using dots as a symbol or sort of an illusion of vision. I added those fish to break the established thoughts we normally have. Also, it's a way to differenciate between Yayoi's work a little bit. I think the work makes me think of an emperor's garden, and all creatures are having a wild party at night.
Any suggestions or comments, feel free to let me know.
Well, I hope the students would enjoy the "dots" project.

Oh, my gosh...I spent a lot of time on my lesson plans rather than my own art work.
Sadly, I don't have choice at this time.

I can’t take my eyes off you. Till I find somebody new.

"home is where the heart is" project-students' houses

The Houses
'Twixt my house and thy house the pathway is broad,
In thy house or my house is half the world's hoard;
By my house and thy house hangs all the world's fate,
On thy house and my house lies half the world's hate.
For my house and thy house no help shall we find
Save thy house and my house -- kin cleaving to kind;
If my house be taken, thine tumbleth anon.
If thy house be forfeit, mine followeth soon.
'Twixt my house and thy house what talk can there be
Of headship or lordship, or service or fee?
Since my house to thy house no greater can send
Than thy house to my house -- friend comforting friend;
And thy house to my house no meaner can bring
Than my house to thy house -- King counselling King.
